Ryan Garcia believes he would knock Gervonta Davis out if the two rivals ever met in a boxing superfight.

When you’re talking about the best lightweight boxers in the game today, Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis have to situated towards the top of the list. These men hold a combined pro record of 49-0, they’re both heavy hitters, and they both have larger than life personalities that could make for one hell of a pay-per-view showdown in the future.

In the past it’s seemed unlikely as to whether or not they’d both be interested but now, in the wake of ‘Tank’ knocking out Rolly Romero, Garcia has spoken to TMZ about how things would go if the bout got booked.

"That fight will not go the distance. No way possible can it go the distance. I will not let Gervonta Davis off the hook," Garcia said.

"I'm gonna beat your ass. I promise that. I will whoop your ass and I will put you to sleep.

"Just know that there's a lot more than meets the eye with me. Don't think I'm soft. You come find out and actually make that decision to fight me, you'll find out real soon there's nothing soft about me."

Focusing on the present

The 23-year-old Garcia may have a large social media presence but if he wants to line himself up with Davis inside the ring, he needs to focus on getting past his next opponent Javier Fortuna.

When discussing the July 16 collision, ‘King’ made it known that he’s feeling as confident as he’s ever been.

"He's an ex-world champion. He's a veteran," Garcia said.

"But, the fact that I'm coming into, I feel my prime and my best ability skillfully and mentally, I feel like this will be a short night for Javier Fortuna. I just know I'm gonna fight Tank after I beat Fortuna."

Devin Haney is out there somewhere pushing for a fight, titles are changing hands all the time, and the division is arguably as hot as it has been in years.

Buckle up, folks, because the next couple of months are going to be pretty interesting.
