NFL: Ranking every team's mascot from 'Stars Of The Show' to 'What Were They Thinking?'

In the latest of our NFL tier ranking lists, we take a look at the mascots that are in the National Football League.

Whether you are a fan of mascots or not, whether you think they are for children or for everyone, if you don’t know if they should be intimidating for the opposition or a symbol for what your team represents, the truth is that mascots are a pretty important part of a franchise.

They might not necessarily have a role when it comes to what happens on the field, but they often have a role to play in the community and can help fans with their experiences on game day. That is of course if there is even a mascot there to begin with.

There are some teams in the NFL that historically have never had mascots like the Green Bay Packers – who are also one of the few NFL teams without cheerleaders either – or they were relatively late to the party like the Pittsburgh Steelers who only brought in their guy Steely McBeam in 2007.

But for what is still left in the NFL, there are plenty of mascots to choose from, so it’s only fair that we do what we’ve done with other elements of teams recently and rank them accordingly.

Can you remember who won these Super Bowls? Starting with the most recent one... LVI

Using, we have broken the NFL mascots up into five categories:

Stars of the show:

No complaints about these guys, look exactly what they should look like

Not quite as good as the guys above them, but still pretty cool

Middle of the road, nothing disastrous, but nothing impressive either

Need plenty of work to them before they can move up the ranking list

What were they thinking?:

Would be better off starting again with the design

So without further ado, here is our list of mascot rankings for those teams that do:

Stars of the show: Captain Fear (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), KC Wolf (Kansas City Chiefs), Rowdy (Dallas Cowboys), Jaxson de Ville (Jacksonville Jaguars), Blitz (Seattle Seahawks)

Impressive: Miles (Denver Broncos), T.D. (Miami Dolphins), Swoop (Philadelphia Eagles), Viktor (Minnesota Vikings), Pat Patriot (New England Patriots), Rampage (Los Angeles Rams), Poe (Baltimore Ravens)
