WWE aired a video package featuring Cody Rhodes during last night's big episode of Monday Night Raw.

Cody has been out of action since the June 6 episode of WWE Raw, where he was attacked by Seth Rollins.

The night prior, Rhodes had beat Rollins in a Hell in a Cell match on pay-per-view, despite having a torn pectoral muscle.

Cody has sustained the injury in training the week of the Hell in a Cell show, but insisted on wrestling the match before undergoing surgery a few days later.

WWE has said that Cody will be out for nine months, but many fans feel as if he's going to be able to come back sooner.

As can be seen above, WWE had Cody appear (virtually) on last night's episode of Raw, giving an update on his status.

Cody is back in the gym, and spoke about his feud with Seth Rollins, as well as missing Money in the Bank.

To the surprise of many, Cody seemed to suggest he could be at Money in the Bank in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

Cody said that if Rollins wins the men's ladder match, which he is the favourite to do, he wants to be the first to congratulate the former WWE Champion.

If Seth takes the win, well I think I'd be the first to congratulate him.

During the segment, Cody also said that he's doing his best to respect WWE's timetable of a return in February, but seemed to hint that he'd want to be back sooner.

When writing him off TV, WWE did have Seth attack Cody, so it seems like that feud will be continuing when Rhodes is cleared to return.

Taking that into consideration, it isn't out of the realms of possibility to suggest that WWE could have Cody come out and congratulate Rollins if he wins Money in the Bank, to keep that plate spinning.

This almost certainly wouldn't be the start of Cody's in-ring return, as even if he is able to come back quicker than WWE's proposed nine months, he likely won't be able to wrestle until the end of the year at the earliest.

You can watch WWE Money in the Bank on Saturday night live in the US on Peacock and in all other international markets on the WWE Network.
