The Hammers have bolstered their squad with the signings of Nayef Aguerd and Alphonse Areola since the summer window opened for business, but there are question marks over whether Soucek will be on the club’s books for the foreseeable future.
What’s the latest news involving Soucek?
According to The Sun, Soucek’s West Ham future is in doubt after failing to reach a compromise over fresh terms.
The report suggests the 52-cap Czech Republic international could be sold if offers in the region of £30million are lodged, leading to interest from Everton, Newcastle United and Aston Villa.
West Ham have been hoping to conclude negotiations over a new long-term contract as Soucek’s current deal, worth £47,000-per-week, has two years left to run.
But internal talks were put on hold at the behest of Hammers boss David Moyes during the final weeks of the 2021/22 campaign.
It has even been suggested that there have been tensions between Soucek and Moyes, with the central midfielder expecting a pay rise.
What has Dean Jones said about Soucek?
Jones believes West Ham intend to hold further discussions with Soucek as they look to end the uncertainty over the 27-year-old’s future.
Although Soucek is being linked with a move away from the London Stadium, the transfer insider insists the Hammers have not given up on attempting to reach an agreement.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “I think there’s still another round of talks to be done with Soucek at West Ham.
“I think that they’re not done with it and they’re not accepting that this is over.”
Would West Ham be making a mistake if they sold Soucek?
Soucek has made 105 appearances since heading to West Ham, scoring 19 goals and contributing a further two assists along the way.
He was not quite so prolific last season, with him only finding the back of the net on six occasions, but the Czech remained a key cog in the heart of Moyes’ midfield.
Since completing an £18million switch from Slavia Prague, following a successful loan spell, Soucek’s two full seasons at the club have been a success.
