The Last of Us Part 1: DualSense controller features unveiled

The Last of Us Remake Rumoured to launch this Christmas

The Last of Us Part 1 is set to release later this year on PS5 and we now have an idea of what players can expect from the game’s implementation of the DualSense controller.

Most modern games releasing on Sony’s system now utilise the PS5 controller’s amazing features, with developers continually pushing the boundaries of what the controller can do.

And Naughty Dog’s latest release will be no different.

As per PlayStation Universe, this information comes from the PS Direct store listing for the game, so we can be pretty sure that this is legitimate.

Haptic feedback will be included “for every weapon and environmental effects such as the sensation of falling rain”.

And the game will also utilise adaptive triggers, with “trigger resistance for all The Last of Us iconic weapons, including Joel’s revolver and Ellie’s bow”.

The game is currently slated to release on September 2, 2022 and is coming on PS5, with a PC release coming later on; there is no release date for that yet.

The Last of Us Remake Might Launch in 2022

Of course, The Last of Us was a critical darling when it first released back in 2013, receiving a huge 95 score on Metacritic from 98 critical reviews.

The game has been overhauled in a major way for the PS5, as new graphics and huge improvements coming to make it another must-have next-gen title.

The PS Direct listing has also confirmed that the game will come in at 79GB before a day one patch, which is a significant leap on the PS4 remaster. It does make sense, though, when one considers that Naughty Dog are set to completely upgrade and overhaul some of the game’s core mechanics., including enemy AI and visuals.

We’ll let you know when we get any more details about the upcoming remaster.
