The majority of fans at Wimbledon would give anything to get an autograph from Venus Williams and Novak Djokovic’s children are no exception. Footage has emerged of the five-time Wimbledon champion signing books for the Serbian’s kids and it’s incredibly heartwarming. Djokovic can be seen standing by his children, Tara and Stefan, and asking his daughter to thank the US tennis icon for her kind gesture. Understandably, fans loved the interaction and voiced their thoughts on social media. One wrote: “This is so adorable.”Meanwhile, another put: “So funny that @DjokerNole who spends hours signing autographs is thanking another player for theirs.” A third added: “So adorable. Novak being a father and a fan at the same time. Seems Stefan and Tara came prepared to meet tennis stars and [get] their autograph.”

Venus set to partner with Murray

Williams has not joined sister Serena in playing the singles draw at Wimbledon but has requested a wildcard entry in the mixed doubles alongside Jamie Murray.

The 42-year-old, who has not played since August 2021, has won the mixed-doubles at the All England Club twice before.

She has also won the women’s doubles alongside Serena on six occasions and the ladies singles title five times.

It’s not the first time the Murray and Williams families have teamed up at Wimbledon.

Back in 2019, Andy Murray and Serena Williams paired up in the mixed-doubles and went on to reach the round of 16.

Djokovic aiming for seventh Wimbledon title

Meanwhile, Djokovic is the reigning champion in the men’s singles and is aiming for his seventh title at the All England Club this summer.

However, the Serbian has had a tough start to the competition and needed four sets to beat Kwon Soon-woo in the first round.

After the match, Djokovic admitted he found life “difficult” on centre-court.

“Credit to Kwon for playing some really high-quality tennis, he definitely deserves an applause,”  he said.

“Starting the tournament, I didn’t have any lead-up or preparation tournaments prior to this so you’re always going to feel a bit less comfortable than you would like, particularly if you’re playing against someone as talented as Kwon who stays close to the line and hits really clean.

“I had to figure out a way to get in control, it wasn’t easy.”

Next up for the 20-time major champion is Thanasi Kokkinakis. The Australian won the men’s doubles at the Australian Open this year, alongside best friend Nick Kyrgios.
