Does Aaron Wan-Bissaka have a future at Manchester United under Erik ten Hag?

The 24-year-old, who joined the Red Devils in a £50 million move from Crystal Palace in 2019, has struggled at times since moving to Old Trafford.

He initially impressed under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but his performance levels over the past two seasons in particular have left a lot to be desired.

Some United fans believe that an upgrade at right-back is required and were encouraged when Sky Sports reported in May that Wan-Bissaka doesn’t feature in Ten Hag’s first-team plans.

Sky added that United would prefer to offload the former England Under-21 international permanently but would be open to a loan move providing it came with a serious optional obligation to buy.

But as we enter July, Wan-Bissaka remains a Manchester United player and could be part of the club’s pre-season tour squad ahead of friendlies against Liverpool, Melbourne Victory, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka working hard in pre-season

Whether Wan-Bissaka is playing at Old Trafford or elsewhere next season, the defender appears to be putting in the hard work to improve ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

There are many question marks over the attacking side of his game but footage uploaded by PlayersPlus - a company that offer bespoke training sessions to footballers - shows him working on his dribbling and crossing.

Who will be Ten Hag's first signing as Man Utd manager?

Although Ten Hag is reportedly not Wan-Bissaka’s biggest fan, it’s a new left-back who looks set to become the Dutchman’s first signing as United manager.

Feyenoord’s 22-year-old defender Tyrell Malacia, who has been capped five times by the Netherlands, is expected to join the Red Devils in a deal worth £13 million.

Malacia’s arrival could lead to the sale of Brazil international Alex Telles.

United are also edging closer to striking a deal with Barcelona for Frenkie de Jong.

However, reports from Spain claim that De Jong has little interest in moving to the Theatre of Dreams and would prefer to stay at Camp Nou.

Barça’s current financial predicament, though, means they want to get De Jong and his wages off their books.
