Richarlison's big-money move from Everton to Tottenham Hotspur is nearing completion. On Thursday morning, the proposed deal received the sought-after 'here we go' treatment from Fabrizio Romano.Spurs will cough up £60 million in total, £50 million up front and £10 million in add-ons, to bring the versatile Brazilian forward to north London. It's a signing that is a serious statement of intent by Antonio Conte's side, one which significantly strengthens the forward line.Harry Kane, Heung-min Son, Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison and Lucas Moura as options up top? Yeah, that sounds pretty tasty to us.Richarlison will also bring yet more passion to the Spurs team. As well as being ridiculously talented, he's a man who will do whatever it takes to gain an on-pitch advantage - just like soon-to-be teammate Cristian Romero.Cristian Romero in action for SpursLONDON, ENGLAND - MAY 01: Cristian Romero of Tottenham Hotspur in action during the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on May 01, 2022 in London, England. (Photo by Mike Hewitt/Getty Images)Those two in the same team will be quite something in 2022/23, although things may be a tad awkward between the pair in their first training session together. Why do we say that? Well, when they last went toe-to-toe in a Premier League arena, a match in which Spurs beat Everton 5-0 on home soil, Romero upended Richarlison with a rather brutal late tackle. To be honest, the descriptor 'late' is something of an understatement...

Fan reaction

The famous Argentina versus Brazil rivalry in full swing. Unsurprisingly, Romero was booked for his actions and he is certainly no stranger to a yellow card.

In his 22 Premier League appearances throughout the 2021/22 season, the former Atalanta defender was cautioned by the referee on eight occasions - although he managed to avoid a red.

But while he's prone to being carded during a match, there's no hiding from the fact that Romero is already one of the best defenders in the Premier League.

Tottenham sign Richarlison (Football Terrace)

Towards the end of last season, the 24-year-old was imperious at the back and without him, Spurs may have missed out on Champions League qualification.

In 2022/23, you feel the sky's the limit for the men in white, especially after the signings of Ivan Perisic and Yves Bissouma - as well as the impending arrival of Richarlison.

If they can add Djed Spence to their roster this summer as well, we may have to label them as outsiders for the title.
