Sergio Perez says he is eager to bounce back from the disappointment he suffered in Montreal and is eyeing a podium finish at the least this weekend at the British Grand Prix.

The Mexican has had a strong season so far but his championship credentials took a big hit last time out in North America as his Red Bull ground to a halt early on in the Canadian Grand Prix, with him already out of position after a mistake in qualifying.

Indeed, with him scoring no points and Max Verstappen taking victory, Perez now sits 46 points off of the Dutchman in the lead of the championship, and he'll be eager to try and turn things around if he can.

That in mind, then, this weekend he says he is looking to finish on the podium at the very least, with him having this to say via the team's official British GP preview:

"It’s always hard to have a weekend off when you have had a tough race, like I did in Canada, so I am coming into Silverstone with a lot of desire to put things right. As a Team we are on an incredible run and I am here to keep contributing to those results by performing to my best and getting the most out of this car.

"Montreal was the first time I have felt it hasn’t hooked up for me in the RB18 and this weekend is all about getting that great feeling back for me and getting back on the podium. I have been working hard with my Team and we know where and what we need to work on, we’re ready for a good weekend!"
