What is the latest news involving De Ligt?

Juventus CEO Maurizio Arrivabene has admitted to Tuttosport that it is impossible to keep hold of any player who is unhappy at the Allianz Stadium.

"It's impossible to keep players when they want to leave the club - but all three parties in the negotiations have to be satisfied," he said amid Chelsea's interest in De Ligt.

The above comes after the Blues reportedly offered cash and Timo Werner for the 22-year-old, a proposal turned down by the Italian giants.

Since then, the Daily Mail has claimed that Chelsea have resumed talks with Juventus and are willing to include Christian Pulisic in any potential deal. De Ligt has a release clause set at £102m, but it is believed that the west London club are not prepared to go anywhere near that figure.

What has Jones said about De Ligt to Chelsea?

With Juventus seemingly ready to sell De Ligt, Jones thinks Chelsea do have a chance of landing the Dutchman this summer.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: "I mean, De Ligt is the dream signing. This is the guy that Tuchel would take over anybody else, so it's a fantastic situation to be in whereby he might be available.

"I'm not even sure they're wholly convinced yet, but the fact that Juve seem reasonably open to it is promising."

Which other centre-backs are Chelsea looking at?

With Chelsea losing both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, understandably, they have a long shortlist of defensive targets.

As well as De Ligt, the Blues are also thought to be interested in signing their former defender Nathan Ake.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are in talks with Manchester City to buy Ake and his team-mate Raheem Sterling. Being left-footed, the Netherlands international is likely to replace Rudiger on the left side of Tuchel's back three should he return to Stamford Bridge.

The same outlet states that Sevilla's Jules Kounde is also on the club's radar, while the reliable Gianluca Di Marzio says there is interest in Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly and Inter Milan's Milan Skriniar, too.

If they can land De Ligt and another centre-back from those names, Tuchel is probably going to be a very happy man.
