The reason Kevin Owens was not on Raw this week, maybe down to minor injury according to new reports. Owens was advertised for Monday Night Raw this past week, where he was set for one-on-one action against Ezekiel, Elias or their younger brother Elrod in a Money in the Bank qualifying match. However, on the night the match was replaced with the Money in the Bank qualifying battle royal, which was won by Riddle. With no sign of KO or his scheduled opponents on the show.

According to PWInsider the reason for Owens’ absence was because he is dealing with a minor injury. A report that has since been somewhat backed-up by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer radio, who stated that a ‘minor situation’ had prevented the WrestleMania main eventer from working Raw.

I did not check if Kevin Owens would be ready by Friday. I just know that he was not ready tonight, but it's nothing serious is what I was told.

Owens acknowledged his absent from Raw during the show, tweeting “I didn't want to go to Texas so I didn't go. Leave me alone". Continuing the tirade on the US State that was the catalyst for his WrestleMania showdown with Stone Cold Steve Austin in April.

Money in the Bank takes place this Saturday night and there is still one spot in the men’s match to fill, which maybe being saved for Owens or Elias if the former Universal Champion is fit enough to compete on SmackDown on Friday.

So far there has been no announcement of how they will fill the last Money in the Bank spot and who will join Riddle, Seth Rollins, Omos, Sheamus, Sami Zayn and Drew McIntyre in the ladder match.
