The 2022 Formula 1 World Championship heads to Silverstone this weekend for the British Grand Prix, as round 10 of the campaign is held at one of the most iconic circuits on the calendar.

It's a circuit that has thrown up plenty of drama over the years, with last year's race proving one to remember as both Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton collided at Copse corner in the Grand Prix, with the Dutchman retiring there and then.

The Dutchman will be hoping for less of that this weekend, then, as he aims to get himself an even bigger lead in the championship with race victory on Sunday.

How will the weather impact things, then? We take a look now...

Friday

A potentially mixed weekend is expected at Silverstone.

On Friday, highs of 19C are predicted with cloud cover and a 50% chance of rain as things stand.

Saturday

On Saturday, the overcast trend is set to continue with an 80% chance of rain currently being forecast, and a high of 18C, which could make for a wet qualifying as in Montreal last time out.

Sunday

Sunday sees more settled weather and potentially the warmest day of the weekend play out with the sun breaking through and highs of 20C being predicted.

There's a forecast of 20% chance for rain, too, and so it appears the weather isn't going to play too much of a part in any drama on Sunday this weekend.

The British weather, though, often has a mind of its own and so there'll be no counting of chickens right now.
