With AEW World Champion CM Punk on the shelf, the company are already setting up Interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley's first opponent this Friday on Rampage.

It was revealed that Moxley's first title defence will be against the winner of the inaugural Royal Rampage.

The Royal Rampage is similar to that of a Casino Battle Royale, where 20 men will compete for a chance to collide with Moxley, who is in fine form after the Blackpool Combat Club's victory last night in Blood and Guts.

The last time Moxley had to face a battle royale winner was Kyle O'Reilly, where he was taken to the limit but emerged as the victor booking his spot at Forbidden Door, where he defeated NJPW's 'Ace' Hiroshi Tanahashi.

The participants in the Royal Rampage match will include familiar faces from the Casino Battle Royale, such as Darby Allin, Swerve Strickland, Keith Lee, Powerhouse Hobbs, Tony Nese and more.

However, the match will also feature former AEW World Heavyweight Champion Hangman Adam Page, who is yet to have a rematch for the title he lost to CM Punk at Forbidden Door.

Page will look to bounce straight back into the World Title picture after falling short in the highly anticipated IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match against Adam Cole, Kazuchika Okada and Champion Jay White. White picked up the victory after pinning Adam Cole.

However, a dark horse in the match is one of the leaders of the newly formed faction La Faccion Ingobernable, Rush. Rush is yet to compete in an AEW ring, and what better way to introduce yourself to the company than becoming the new number one contender for the Interim AEW World Title and jump straight into the main event picture.
