Tamara Korpatsch has seemingly reignited her feud with doubles partner Harmony Tan, after the French star pulled out of their opening match at Wimbledon on Wednesday. The duo had been scheduled to face Raluca Olaru and Nadiia Kichenok but Tan withdrew just hours before the contest with a thigh injury. Tan had stunned seven-time singles champion, Serena Williams, on Centre Court the night before ––emerging the victor in a three-set epic that lasted more than three hours. But Korpatsch took issue with the fact her partner had pulled out, claiming it was not “fair” on her. Korpatsch later posted that the two had worked things out and that she would delete her previous post. Yet, in another turn of events, the German has appeared to condemn Tan once again, after the French player won her round two singles match against Sara Sorribes Tormo.

What did Korpatsch say?

Initially, following Tan’s withdrawal, Korpatshc launched into a tirade online, writing: "Unfortunately my doubles partner H. Tan retired from our doubles today," Korpatsch wrote on Instagram on Wednesday after Tan pulled out, reportedly citing fatigue.

"She just texted me this morning. Let me wait here [until] one hour before the match start. I'm very sad, disappointed and also very angry that I can't play my first doubles Grand Slam.

"If you're broken after a 3h [three-hour] match the day before, you can't play professional[ly]. That's my opinion."

However, earlier on Thursday, the German posted another update to say she had spoken with Tan and that all was well again.

"Me and Harmony have talked and figured out all misunderstandings,” Korpatsch wrote on Instagram. “She made me clear about her injury now and we already apologized to each other."

The 27-year-old added she would delete her previous post, and asked fans not to send "insults" to the player.

Korpatsch criticises Tan again

Tan backed up her impressive performance against Williams with a straight sets win over Sara Sorribes Tormo.

Yet, just hours after allegedly clearing the air, Korpatsch posted an Instagram story which seemed to sarcastically critise the French player once more.

“Congrats @tanharmony for a win against another great player,” she wrote, alongside the clapping emoji.

“Amazing week for you. I’m glad your leg injury [got] better so quickly.”

Who is Tamara Korpatsch?

Korpatsch has never competed in the main draw of a doubles Grand Slam before and has focused predominantly on singles during her career.

The 27-year-old was knocked out in the first round of this year’s singles main draw by Britain’s Heather Watson.

While the German is still looking for her first WTA Tour title, she has won 10 times on the ITF circuit.
