What is the latest transfer news involving Arsenal?

Last month, The Athletic reported that Arsenal had a bid for Raphinha rejected by Leeds. Since then, both Chelsea and Barcelona have made moves for the Brazilian, leaving the Gunners in an unfavourable position.

Mikel Arteta may now have to sign an alternative, with Gnabry one player he could potentially try to bring in this summer.

According to 90min, Arsenal are monitoring their former player, who is in a contract stand-off with Bayern.

The 26-year-old's current deal expires next year and he is yet to reach an agreement on an extension.

What has Jacobs said about Gnabry and Arsenal?

Jacobs has told GIVEMESPORT that Gnabry is a player Arsenal are keeping tabs on.

Speaking to GMS, the CBS reporter said: "Gnabry is on Arsenal's radar, for sure, for a sort of £60m or so fee so not too dissimilar to Raphinha.

"But what's interesting is that Arsenal kept bidding for Raphinha and not putting 60 million down on the table. If they want Serge Gnabry, they will have to learn a lesson from that and be more decisive and front up that type of fee."

Would Gnabry be a better signing than Raphinha?

Raphinha certainly has a lot of quality, with the Brazil international scoring 11 goals for Leeds in the Premier League last season. However, Gnabry is the more proven player as he continues to thrive at one of Europe's biggest clubs.

As per FBref, the Bayern star has ranked in the 94th percentile for progressive carries, the 91st for dribbles completed and 95th for touches in the penalty area among attacking midfielders and wingers over the last year.

Last season, he also scored 17 goals in all competitions for the German giants, helping them to win yet another Bundesliga title. It is no wonder manager Julian Nagelsmann has hailed him as an "outstanding player".

Ultimately, if Arsenal can land Raphinha, he could be a very good signing for them. But if they do go on to miss out on the Leeds man to another club, which now looks extremely likely, and bring Gnabry to the Emirates instead, then they will probably end up with the better deal.
