This Saturday night WWE presents the annual Money in the Bank premium live event. 

Last year, Nikki A.S.H. and Big E left the show holding the Money in the Bank briefcases and both went on to claim their first world championships in 2021. 

GiveMeSport runs down the card and predicts who might come out on top in Las Vegas this weekend.

WWE have put together an impressive field of Superstars for this year’s women’s Money in the Bank match, with a mix of stars that haven’t been in the title scene for a while, and those yet to really get a crack at championship opportunity. However, the winner looks like the only person who doesn’t fall into either of those categories.  

Becky Lynch has been on a major losing streak, where her character has become more desperate and unhinged as she attempts to find a way back to the Raw Women’s Championship. That way is most likely to be by winning this Money in the Bank match, something she’s never done, and giving her heel character a new twist by holding the cash-in threat over rival Bianca Belair. Hopefully we’ll also see some coming out moments for the likes of Raquel and the recently returned Evans, but this one is only ending with one big time winner.

Winner: Becky Lynch 

Theory vs Lashley

United States Championship

It has to be said, whatever rivalry WWE have thrown Theory into, he’s made it entertaining to watch – and he’s really helped Bobby Lashley cement his baby face role in this short feud on Raw. 

The Upstart is naturally annoying in his cocky heel persona, and it’s worked to get under the skin of the Almighty and made the possibility of Theory beating the former WWE Champion a more likely one. It won’t be a clean win, as WWE need to keep Lashley strong – especially given the are baby face light on Raw thanks to the injuries to Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Edge. A screwy win is most likely, possibly taking the match to another round at SummerSlam. 

Winner: Theory 

Ronda Rousey vs Natalya

Fair play for Nattie for making an entertaining few weeks of SmackDown out of this feud, but there’s simply no way they are taking the belt of Ronda yet – and not for a veteran star who doesn’t need the title. 

That’s nothing against Natalya, but she’s in this spot to enhance Rousey’s title reign and be a placeholder before WWE decide who the Baddest Women on the Planet may face at SummerSlam next month. The field on the blue brand is looking light, unless we finally see the return of Bayley? That’s for another day, but on Saturday, Ronda retains.

The Usos vs The Street Profits

This could be a sleeper hit for one of the matches of the night, given the talent on display and probably WWE’s two best ‘proper’ tag teams. Yet, you feel like there’s only one outcome when it comes to The Bloodline right now. 

Their dominance has been a highlight of SmackDown, but with Jimmy and Jey holding both tag team straps, it’s difficult for any other team to gain momentum or a spotlight with no titles in play. Especially a team like The Street Profits who have been treading water on Raw without a title feud to get into, so you’d question where they’ll go next following another defeat to the all-conquering Usos. 

Winner: The Usos 

Bianca Belair vs Carmella

What should have been Rhea Ripley’s entry back in the title fold has become an opportunity for Carmella to prove she can still be a legitimate player in the Raw women’s title scene – and the build hasn’t been half bad. 

The issue here is, as good as the fire ‘Mella has shown in the last couple of weeks against the champion, there’s no real belief in her toppling Belair in winning the championship. Bianca will be heading to SummerSlam as one of WWE’s leading attractions, which means she’ll retain her gold. Although I wouldn’t rule out the scenario where Becky makes an instant cash-in on the EST of WWE, setting up another revenge mission for Belair and another chance for the pair to steal the show at the biggest party of the summer.

Seth Rollins vs Omos vs Sheamus vs Drew McIntyre vs Sami Zayn vs Riddle vs TBC 

Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match

Even without the final competitor named in this match – which expect to be Kevin Owens – I can only see two possible outcomes for the winner of this men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. 

The first scenario is a Seth Rollins win. There’s arguably no man who deserves the win more than The Visionary thanks to his body of work over the last year or so, and it would add a nice wrinkle to his current character. Especially when you add in the delightful possibility of him repeating a cash-in at SummerSlam in the same match as he did so memorably at WrestleMania 31.

The other option is Drew McIntyre. The Scottish Warrior needs a big win after pretty much having nothing really to chew on since his move to SmackDown in the last WWE draft and he’s yet to win a Money in the Bank match. This would also play in nicely to McIntyre’s promise to main event Clash at the Castle and challenge Roman Reigns, where he could simply cash-in his opportunity by challenging the Tribal Chief for the world title match in Cardiff this September.
