Alfa Romeo driver Valtteri Bottas bemoaned the wet conditions at Silverstone on Saturday afternoon which meant he qualified outside of the top ten.

The Finn will line up in 12th for today's British Grand Prix, and will look to move forward in an Alfa Romeo car that is more than capable of earning points again this afternoon.

Indeed, the team achieved a double points finish last time out in Canada and there's no reason why they can't earn that sort of result again here, with Zhou Guanyu in the other Alfa starting the race from 9th place after a fine qualifying performance of his own.

Indeed, Bottas is of the opinion that that is more than possible this weekend, too, with him just left to rue the slippery conditions that prevented him from making it into Q3:

"There was an opportunity, with better track conditions things might have stabilised between the teams.

"It would have been nice to get into Q3 but my teammate's done a good job and hopefully we can get double points again."

Indeed, Bottas was asked whether there had been an issue with the car in the press pen on Saturday afternoon, but he revealed that it was purely down to tyre temperatures not being where they needed to be as the reason behind him dropping out at the Q2 stage:

"There's nothing wrong with the car and I felt the issue was the tyres and not getting the temperature and the sweet spot."

Ultimately, though, the Alfa is a good race car and it's on Sunday where the points are handed out so the Finn might be one to watch charging through the field this afternoon.
