Thereâs walking out and thereâs walking out. UFC star Israel Adesanya believes in the latter.Or at least that is what we were led to believe when he strutted his way to the Octagon. The middleweight made an entrance for the ages with The Undertakerâs entrance music, making for an iconic spectacle like no other.Perhaps that is where the tone was set for the Kiwi for his unanimous decision win over Jarod Cannonier, who he beat with an absolute masterclass. The Nigeria-born was well on-song, not letting Cannonier have so little as a sniff. Soon after his sensational win, he then also went a step ahead to make a sensational statement about, yes, you guess it right: Alex Pereira.Israel Adesanya celebrates his UFC 276 victory over Jared CannonierSpeaking of the Brazilian, he said:âLook we know whoâs next. Trust me, the first time I told you, it was an error on my part spamming the right hand and that was in kickboxing.âItâs easy to knockout, whatâs the hillbillyâs name [Sean Strickland] because he was parrying the jabs but like I said at the press conference, the next time I put you on skates, youâre going to get frozen like Elsa.â
Pereira, who has been making a name for himself - and is the only man to have knocked out Adesanya didnât keep quiet either. After all, he beat Sean Strickland on the same night in Las Vegas.
âMany people talk about my two wins over Israel Adesanya and say that was just in kickboxing,â he said.
âI just beat the number 4 ranked guy so I know I earned that!â
Pereira against Adesanya is going to be quite the battle. Both seem to be at the top of their game, both love the sight of each other, and both are raring to go against each other once again.
