An exciting update has emerged on the status of Bayley, who has been off WWE TV with an injury since July 2021.

Just before Money in the Bank last year, WWE announced that Bayley has sustained a serious knee injury and would be out of action for some time.

It later emerged that she'd torn her ACL, and was definitely going to be out of action for the remainder of 2021, potentially even longer.

It's been just shy of a year since WWE announced Bayley's injury (July 9), and an update has finally emerged on her status.

Fightful Select is reporting that Bayley has been back in the ring recently training for a return to the ring.

The former multi-time women's champion has been preparing for an in-ring return, WWE sources have confirmed to Fightful. She's been in the ring working on a return to action.

The report does note that there is no word on when Bayley is going to be back and how far along in her in-ring work she is, but this is definitely a good sign.

With Charlotte Flair, Naomi, Rhea Ripley and Sasha Banks all out right now due to various different reasons, the return of Bayley will be welcomed amongst the WWE roster.

There's also no word on which brand Bayley is going to return to when she does come back to WWE TV, so stay tuned to GiveMeSport for any potential updates on that front.

It's worth noting that with this news dropping before Money in the Bank, many fans thought there was a chance that Bayley could be in Las Vegas for the big pay-per-view.

And for those that didn't manage to catch the show and don't know what happened, Bayley didn't appear on the broadcast in any capacity.

Again, there are still a lot of questions circulating right now surrounding Bayley's status and her return, and we'll look to keep you updated with more information on the matter as it becomes available.

Liv Morgan is the new SmackDown Women's Champion, having cashed in the briefcase she won earlier in the night to beat Ronda Rousey at Money in the Bank.

When she is back on TV, Bayley returning to take on Liv and challenge her for the title could be a very exciting avenue for WWE to explore this summer.
