Chris Pratt has criticised Israel Adesanya's rather flat performance in his fifth consecutive title defence against Jared Cannonier early on Sunday morning.

The Last Stylebender, 32, maintained his place at the top of the middleweight division courtesy of a unanimous decision in the main event of UFC 276 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Adesanya was left with hardly a scratch on his face as he barely had to get out of third gear to keep his hands on the belt.

But Pratt, like many others, was left unimpressed by Adesanya's lacklustre victory and shared his thoughts on the win on the UFC 276 post-fight show on ESPN.

The Hollywood actor, who has previously described himself as a 'massive' fan of mixed martial arts, has trained with the Nogueira brothers in the past, so he probably knows a bit more about the sport than the average casual fan.

Appearing as a guest alongside former MMA fighter Din Thomas and current light heavyweight contender Anthony Smith, Pratt said: “Look, I’m going to say this as humbly as I can as a guy who has never stepped into the Octagon.

"I don’t know this game, I’m just an actor, man.

"But, I’m not a fan of coming out with all that talk and then putting on a little bit of pitter patter.

"I’m like ‘Come on, man! Cash on that!’ You gotta [sic] cash that promise of being so badass.

"And I dunno. If I bet with my money, I would have bet Adesanya’d do something like that.

"But I was hoping to see Cannonier make it.”

Adesanya was heavily booed by some fans during his victory over 'The Killa Gorilla' but believes they were all drunk by then anyway.

Speaking to reporters, he said: “F*ck them.

"Nah, they’ve been here since 3 p.m. They’re all drunk. They don’t know what real fighting is.

"I’ve said this: The greats, they all get to this point. I’ve seen it when I was just a fan. I’m still a fan.

The 32-year-old insists that this is something that every great fighter has to go through at some point during their career saying: "Anderson Silva, Georges St-Pierre, I remember fights where I’d be like, ‘That was a f***ing fantastic fight,’ and the same thing.

"People would just boo them. GSP, one of the f***ing GOATs, and people would just boo him. I’m like, ‘What the f*** are you guys watching? You dumb f***s.’

“Muhammad Ali, Floyd Mayweather, it’s the same thing. You’re so great, people just want to see you fall. They just want to see you fall no matter what.

"If it’s not a show-out, spectacular performance, it’s like, ‘Ah, he’s not even that good.’ Jared knows I’m a good fighter. He knows I’m a great fighter, and I gave him the same credit, as well.”
