Tottenham will turn their attention to signing a right wing-back once they secure a deal for Barcelona ace Clement Lenglet, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Spurs have already confirmed four arrivals and are close to completing a fifth in the Frenchman, who's expected to join on a season-long loan deal from the La Liga giants.

What's the latest news involving Lenglet?

Antonio Conte's side continued their blistering start to the transfer window on Friday when they secured the services of Richarlison in a £60m deal, including add ons.

The north Londoners have already signed Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic and Yves Bissouma upon their return to the Champions League and are looking to make further additions before they jet off to South Korea for their pre-season tour this weekend.

According to The Athletic, Lenglet is close to becoming Conte's fifth signing of the summer when he is expected to join on a temporary basis from Barcelona.

Once Lenglet is confirmed, Romano reckons that Tottenham's focus will turn to bolstering their right wing-back department.

What did Romano say about Tottenham?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "They will consider opportunities during the market, this is how Fabio Paratici works, so maybe now at the beginning of July, their focus will be on the right-back after the centre-back, and then they will look at the market and what kind of possibilities there will be."

Which right-back could Tottenham sign?

It's no secret that Conte came into the summer window hoping to add a right wing-back to his squad before September's deadline.

It quickly became even less of a secret that Middlesbrough star Djed Spence is the Italian's top target.

Tottenham have been chasing the 21-year-old's signature since January, when he produced an impressive showing in Nottingham Forest's FA Cup victory over Arsenal at the beginning of 2022.

But talks between Spurs and Middlesbrough have been stalling in recent times, with the two clubs apart in their valuation of the England Under-21 man.

However, according to Sky Sports, Tottenham have finally reached a breakthrough and are now in advanced talks with Spence.

The report states that an agreement is 'getting closer' and Conte is hoping to have the youngster on board in the coming days, with Spurs back at Hotspur Way for the start of pre-season on Monday.
