Crystal Palace are not interested in Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira this summer, according to Tom Barclay.

The 26-year-old is due to return to Old Trafford this summer following a loan at Flamengo last season.

What’s the latest on Pereira?

Palace had been linked with a move for Pereira this summer, with Patrick Vieira’s side also expected to sign Lens midfielder Chieck Doucouré imminently, according to Fabrizio Romano.

According to the Manchester Evening News, he has been given extra time off this summer following the conclusion of his loan deal at Flamengo.

The same report also states that Fulham have made an £11m bid for the versatile midfielder and the club could be tempted into a sale with the Brazilian having just one year left on his deal with United.

But Barclay believes that Palace are not interested in bringing the £53k-per-week man to Selhurst Park this season.

What has Barclay said about Pereira?

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I don't think Palace are interested in him to be honest.

“I might be wrong but from what I've been told he is not one of their targets.

“For Fulham it might be a different story.”

What next for Palace?

Vieira will be looking to add to his side that finished 12th in the Premier League last season, and he has already added free-agents Sam Johnstone and Malcolm Ebiowei to his squad ahead of August’s Premier League kick-off.

Harry Winks has been linked with a move to South London this season, after falling down the pecking order at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season.

As previously mentioned, Palace still look set to bring Doucouré to the club for a rumoured initial £18m, as the Eagles look to try and replace the void left in midfield by Conor Gallagher, who has returned to parent club Chelsea this summer.

It is critical that Vieira is given a midfielder to replace the Chelsea man this summer, with the four-time international playing a part in 13 goals for the Eagles last season, scoring eight goals and providing five assists, according to Transfermarkt.

Judging by Palace’s targets and the potential signing of Doucouré, it seems as though Vieira is looking for a midfielder to add to his ranks, and he will hope that a new face in the middle of the park can help pull the strings for the Eagles, and potentially propel them into the top-half of the Premier League table next season.
