Christian Eriksen is all set to be a Manchester United player in 2022/23.On Monday, David Ornstein confirmed that the Red Devils had a verbal agreement with the Danish playmaker, who impressed in the second half of last season at Brentford.Shortly after that news done the rounds on social media, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano gave the deal the coveted 'here we go' treatment.Eriksen will join United for free on a deal that will run until 2025 and it really could prove to be a shrewd piece of business by Erik ten Hag's side. The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder returned to competitive action earlier on in the year with Brentford after suffering a cardiac arrest in a group stage match at Euro 2020.It didn't take long for him to find his stride. Eriksen finished the campaign with a goal and four assists from 11 appearances, his brilliance helping keep the Bees in the Premier League. And during his marvellous 2021/22 comeback, Eriksen was involved in a rather heartwarming moment with soon-to-be United teammate, Brandon Williams.Christian Eriksen & Brandon WilliamsNORWICH, ENGLAND - MARCH 05: Christian Eriksen of Brentford and Brandon Williams of Norwich City during the Premier League match between Norwich City and Brentford at Carrow Road on March 05, 2022 in Norwich, England. You just love to see it!

If United don't somehow factor that footage into Eriksen's announcement video (should the deal be completed as expected), then they really have missed a trick.

The Dane will add some much-needed depth to the Red Devils' creativity department, acting as the perfect back-up to Bruno Fernandes in the central playmaking role.

United noticeably lacked suitable cover in that exact position last season, so the acquisition of Eriksen can only be a huge positive for the club - especially given that he won't cost a penny in transfer fees.
