Tottenham Hotspur managing director Fabio Paratici is 'always ready' to sanction a 'surprising' deal at the end of the window, so further Hotspur Way additions cannot be ruled out, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Paratici headed to north London last summer, with a key part of his role being to oversee squad incomings and outgoings, and he has been busy since the 2021/22 campaign came to a close.

Who have Spurs signed so far this summer?

Spurs' summer business got underway by tying Ivan Perisic down to a contract ahead of his Inter Milan deal coming to an end last month.

Paratici took full advantage of the free agent market once again when he rubber-stamped a move for Fraser Forster a matter of weeks before his Southampton agreement was due to expire.

Then the north Londoners showed they were willing to splash the cash when they secured the services of central midfielder Yves Bissouma, who has joined from Brighton & Hove Albion for a fee which could rise to £35million.

But Paratici has also played a key role in bolstering head coach Antonio Conte's attacking options as he has succeeded in drafting Richarlison in from Everton.

It came after Spurs were willing to piece together a package worth £60million, with £50million being an upfront fee and the remaining sum coming in the form of potential add-ons.

What has Fabrizio Romano said about Paratici?

Romano understands Paratici well, having also overseen his transfer dealings at previous club Juventus.

The transfer guru has refused to rule out the possibility of the 49-year-old continuing to survey the market until the September 1 deadline and, as a result, a shock late arrival could be on the cards.

Romano told GIVEMESPORT: "I would keep the situation open for Tottenham because I know how Paratici works.

"He's always ready to make a surprising deal at the end of the market."

Who else have Spurs been linked with?

Tottenham appear to be closing in on the loan addition of central defender Clement Lenglet as Romano has revealed negotiations are into the final stages with Barcelona and personal terms have already been agreed.

Djed Spence could also be on his way to north London from Championship side Middlesbrough as they have entered advanced talks to sign the 21-year-old.

Spurs have entered the race to acquire free agent Jesse Lingard, fresh from his Manchester United contract expiring at the end of last month, while they could raid Everton once again after identifying Anthony Gordon as a target.
