Chelsea are working on a deal to sign defender Nathan Ake but would love to make a double announcement with Raheem Sterling, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Thomas Tuchel is yet to get his summer business underway, although he's hoping to bring the Manchester City duo to Stamford Bridge.

What's the latest news involving Ake and Sterling?

It's been a tough start to the transfer window for the Londoners, who've lost Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger, while Romelu Lukaku has returned to Inter Milan on loan.

But things could be about to get better for the Blues, who are interested in signing Ake and Sterling, with both out of favour under Pep Guardiola.

According to Sky Sports, Sterling, who made his fewest Premier League starts last season (23) since his first campaign as a City player, is in advanced talks with Chelsea, with a fee 'close' to being agreed by the two clubs.

Meanwhile, Ake, who City have priced at £50m, £10m more than they paid Bournemouth two years ago, is also on Chelsea's radar, and while Jones has revealed that a deal is currently being worked on, he believes the ideal scenario would be for Tuchel's side to announce both players at once.

What did Jones say about Ake and Sterling?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "Nathan Ake is a deal they've been working on alongside Raheem Sterling.

"I think in a dream world they try and get Ake and Sterling at the same time and announce this big double signing from Manchester City, although the way it's panning out at the moment Ake is moving a bit too slowly for that to happen."

Who else do Chelsea want to sign?

Chelsea might not have officially made a signing, but there's every reason for supporters to be excited.

Despite their pursuit of Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele set to end in disappointment, with the Frenchman on the verge of signing a contract extension at the Nou Camp, the Blues have other options in the attacking areas.

They're still hoping to pip Barcelona to the signature of Leeds ace Raphinha, while the Guardian reckon Chelsea are considering a move for Cristiano Ronaldo, who recently expressed his desire to leave Manchester United following their failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Chelsea are also hoping to bolster their defensive options with the signing of Matthijs de Ligt, although they now face stiff competition from Bayern Munich, while Jules Kounde remains on their radar.
