Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans has opened up about a hilarious interaction he had with quarterback Tom Brady this past offseason.
Mike Evans, despite only being 28 years old, has managed to establish himself as arguably one of the best players in the history of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers franchise, as he currently holds the records for most receptions , receiving yards, and total touchdowns with 606, 9,301 and 76 respectively.
And when you consider his age, those numbers are only going to be going higher and higher as the years go on, regardless of which quarterback is throwing the ball in his direction. Tom Brady has so far thrown him 27 touchdowns and given him more than 2,000 of those yards and is set to give him more this season.
But as we all now know, things could have been an awful lot different in the 2022 NFL season, as Evand and the Buccaneers could have had to deal with someone else under centre.
Brady goes back and forth
Having been with the Buccaneers for 2 seasons following his 20 seasons with the New England Patriots, a spell in which he instantly turned the Buccaneers into Super Bowl winners and contenders, Brady announced back in February that his time in the NFL had come to an end.

You could make the argument that after 7 Super Bowl victories, 5 Super Bowl MVP performances, 3 NFL MVP seasons and countless records to his name, there was no more that he can do in the game, and that now was the right time for him to hang up his boots and move onto the next chapter in his life.
However, 40 days later, he announced that he was reversing his decision to retire and coming back to the Buccaneers, but not before having a bit of fun with Evans first.
What did he do?
Speaking in an interview with KPRC 2 in Houston, Evans revealed just how he found out about Brady’s decision to come back and play, explaining that he found out before he told the rest of the world, but that Evans had to work a little bit before working out what he was trying to say:

So this offseason has certainly been a roller coaster of emotions for Evans and the Buccaneers organisation as they were left to make the best of what Brady was doing with himself.
The ball that Evans is referring to, believed to be the final touchdown in Brady’s career, was later sold for more than $500k at auction, however once Brady’s unretirement was announced, the decision was nullified, meaning that the person who bought the ball didn’t lose out.
