Alexa Bliss has opened-up on her character evolution in WWE and shared she wanted to take her person in an even darker direction.

The 30-year-old is one of WWE’s most talented performers and showed her ability to evolve her character when she aligned herself with Bray Wyatt in 2020.

Swapping the Goddess gimmick that had served her so well and morphing into a completely different, more sinister role.

The alliance with Wyatt ended upon his release last summer, but Alexa remained in her new guise and introduced WWE fans to Lilly.

A doll that Bliss would take to the ring and talk to, claiming it was her friend and using her as a muse in her ring outings.

Speaking on Out of Character Bliss revealed that she had plans to take her relationship with Lilly and character even darker but plans with creative changed.

I wanted it to go even darker and deeper. I had Jason (Baker) come out with a sketch and prototype of a different version of Lilly, which would have been super cool. Obviously, with creative, things always change. I’m still holding on that this new version of Lilly will come out one day. We’ll see.”

Lilly unfortunately came to untimely end at Extreme Rules 2021, when Charlotte Flair destroyed the doll and it led to a Bliss taking time away from WWE – where she underwent nose surgery.

When the five-time women’s champion returned, she appeared in several backstage segments where she undertook therapy sessions. And Bliss continued by speaking about those segments and the creative process that went into them.

“That was a pitch that I pitched for a very long time. It was originally a different kind of therapy because I wanted to be taken away at Extreme Rules and then come back a different version of the Dark Alexa character. Obviously, things change and all that jazz.”

“I had to have surgery, so we were like, ‘oh, perfect, it’s an amount of time to go away and give time for Extreme Rules to settle and come back with these therapy sessions.’ They were so much fun. Everyone knows I love acting and performing in that aspect. It’s something I always feel creatively fulfilled in. For me, it was my creative outlet, having the most fun I can. It was so much fun.”

“We have a good amount of creative control and Vince (McMahon) was super awesome. From what I’ve heard, he sat down for a few hours, wrote it all out, and took the vision and made it come to life.”

Bliss appeared on Monday Night Raw last night, where she stated she wanted to be next in line for a Raw Women’s Championship shot. Alexa last held world championship gold in 2018, when she lost the Raw title to Ronda Rousey at SummerSlam.
