Former WWE Champion Big E has shared an update on his injury status as he continues to recover from his broken neck. Back in March, Big suffered a horrendous injury during a tag team match between The New Day and Sheamus and Ridge Holland.During the bout, E fell to the outside, and was given a Belly-to-Belly suplex by the Yorkshireman. However, instead of flipping all the way over and landing on his back, Big E landed on his head and neck.

The terrifying incident saw the New Day member suffer a C1 and fracture, but thankfully no damage was done to his spinal cord and last month he was able to remove his neck brace for the first time in his recovery.

In a fresh update on his condition, the 36-year-old took to Twitter to inform fans that although surgery isn’t still required, his C1 vertebrae isn’t yet forming bone.

It is yet unclear if and when the New Day star will be able to return to the ring, and what sort of condition his neck will be in once he starts taking bumps in the ring.

In his absence his tag team partners Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods continued their rivalry with the Brawling Brutes and even adding Drew McIntyre to their fold to even the odds – giving him the name Big D.

It now looks like the record-breaking tag team will be transitioning into a programme with the recently returned Viking Raiders.

Everyone at Give Me Sport sends their best wishes to Big E and hopes for a speedy recovery.
