Montez Ford has commented on the possible idea of a spilt for the Street Profits and his ambitions as a singles star.
The match was marred in controversy thanks to Ford’s shoulder being off the mat during the winning pinfall.
While it looks like the team are set to earn a rematch against the members of The Bloodline, speculation has mounted over a potential spilt for The Street Profits in the future.
A parting of the ways was teased on last week’s SmackDown, while the commentors in Las Vegas over the weekend repeatedly referenced what good shape Ford was in following the change in his physique.
Now the 32-year-old has addressed the speculation of a tag team spilt while speaking to Wrestling Inc. Stating that winning the WWE Championship has always been a dream for him.
If the draft happens and they, you know, we’re forced to go our separate ways, we’re definitely going to keep that support there. Keep bringing it 100 percent. I know as a kid, speaking for myself, I’ve always had dreams of being a WWE World Champion. That dream just never fades away man. You know, when you’re here, I feel like if you’re not trying to be the guy or the team, then what are you here for? You know besides the money. But still at the same time, like you want to create a legacy.
Reports have suggested that WWE are very high on Ford, and a singles push is planned for the Superstar in the future. However, there are some concerns over where that would lead Angelo Dawkins, with a possible return to NXT on the cards.
