Newcastle United’s next move in the transfer market could be crucial as to how their season develops this season, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Eddie Howe’s side have made three summer signings so far this season, but have until August to strengthen their squad ahead of the Premier League kick-off.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Newcastle are just plotting their next move at the moment.

“This is really crucial, the final pieces to this Eddie Howe team could determine how quickly they can push up this league if they can make a good start to next season.

“Then they get that break in the middle of it for the World Cup and then go again from January.

“Maybe you could add another one or two in January and then this could be a really exciting season.”

What next for Newcastle?

A position in which Newcastle could do with strengthening is that crucial centre-forward spot, with Callum Wilson has been a reliable presence for the Toon, but has struggled to remain fit during his time on Tyneside.

Another forward option for Howe was Joelinton, but his stunning upturn in performances since being moved into midfield means that the former Bournemouth manager is unlikely to want to change something which is going well.

The club have been linked with moves for strikers such as Hugo Ekitike, Armando Broja and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but those options are not thought to be anywhere near completion at this moment in time.
