Leeds United are 'very much serious' in their bid to welcome Club Brugge forward Charles de Ketelaere to Elland Road, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs.

The Whites have been among the Premier League's busiest clubs in the summer transfer window, but head coach Jesse Marsch is eager to make de Ketelaere his next acquisition.

What's the latest news involving de Ketelaere?

According to Football Insider, Leeds are in pole position to land de Ketelaere and club officials are confident they have leapfrogged AC Milan in the race for his signature.

The report suggests, following late night talks, the Yorkshire giants have submitted a bid worth £25million, plus add-ons, for the eight-cap Belgium international.

Italian media outlet CalcioMercatoWeb have claimed Arsenal and Lyon are also showing an interest in de Ketelaere ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Leicester City are another club eager to swoop for the 21-year-old, while Club Brugge are reportedly holding out for £34.2million.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed de Ketelaere was added to Leeds' list of targets when it became clear it was likely Raphinha will be leaving Elland Road.

What has Ben Jacobs said about de Ketelaere?

Jacobs understands Leeds are keen to lure de Ketelaere away from Club Brugge as Marsch's summer spending spree continues.

With Tyler Adams on his way to Yorkshire from RB Leipzig, the journalist believes the Whites' interest will now go up a notch.

Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT: "De Ketelaere is the other one to watch and Leeds are very much serious about bringing on board the Club Brugge forward.

"They're in competition with Leicester, who are very much circling around the player too.

"I think that it is fair to say Adams' arrival will turn Leeds' interest in de Ketelaere into being highly, highly serious as well."

What would de Ketelaere offer Leeds?

De Ketelaere showed last season that he is a menace in the final third of the pitch, with him notching 18 goals and laying on a further 10 assists in 49 appearances.

His form played a key role in Club Brugge winning the title having already got their hands on the Belgian Super Cup.

It is understood that Leeds have identified de Ketelaere as a versatile attacker who is capable of being deployed as a secondary striker or false nine.

With first-choice striker Patrick Bamford missing 30 matches through injury during the 2021/22 campaign, the Belgian could be the perfect option for Marsch.
