A long-standing rivalry

Shields and Marshall have been rivals for more than a decade and this September, they will finally lock horns and prove who is the superior fighter.

The feud started during the women's amateur days and sparks have continued to fly between the two over the years.

In the lead up to the fight in London, Shields and Marshall have been embroiled in a war of words.

The self-proclaimed GWOAT almost pulled out of the fight after accusing Marshall of faking an injury in order to buy herself more time.

Shields claimed The Silent Assassin was "lying to fans" but Marshall, as cool as ever, hit back with a composed retort, stating her opponent's team had been sent information about her injury.

"I don’t know whether it’s just red-chested or [if] she’s just opened her inbox, I haven’t a clue with that girl," the Hartlepool-born fighter said.
