UFC lightweight Rafael Fiziev has issued a challenge to Conor McGregor following an interesting interaction on social media.

While not all of Conor McGregor’s tweets make sense, with many of them going on to be deleted, the Irishman certainly knows how to get people talking on good old Twitter - especially when he focuses on mixed martial arts.

The former two-weight UFC champion hasn’t had a great deal of luck inside the Octagon as of late with his last two outings ending in defeat to Dustin Poirier. However, he’s still got an incredible MMA pedigree as well as a deep understanding of the sport, especially in the striking department.

The same can obviously be said for many other fighters but when the 33-year-old offers up some advice, the majority of folks tend to listen.

His most recent ‘words of wisdom’ stemmed from footage of Rafael Fiziev, but as it turns out, ‘Ataman’ was in no mood to take Conor’s constructive criticism on board.

McGregor: "This is awesome. Change the roundhouse to an axe kick. Roundhouse into and axe kick and this defense eats the full of the heel. I’m telling you. If their reaction to a high kick is this, implement the axe.”

Fiziev: “Conor, I invite you to @tigermuaythai where we can show you how to kick and defend the kicks properly so you can stop living in fantasy world where you think it’s possible to land an axe kick in this situation”

The next step for Fiziev

After slowly but surely working his way up through the ranks, Rafael Fiziev has the opportunity to make a huge statement in the lightweight division this weekend.

He’ll be going head to head with Rafael dos Anjos in a match-up that has hardcore fans salivating. The two men had been scheduled to meet back in February and then again in March, only for visa issues and COVID-19 to get in the way.

As we sit here just a few days away from fight night, it’ll be interesting to see whether or not RDA can successfully turn back another hot prospect.

In equal measure, the world wants to see just how good Fiziev really is.
