Leeds United are likely to sign a centre-forward this transfer window, according to Dean Jones.

The club currently have a number of strikers on the books at the club, but are likely to invest in another player this summer.

What’s the latest on Leeds?

Leeds’ transfer window is now bursting into life, with the potential departure of Raphinha (to either Barcelona or Chelsea) meaning the club are moving to bring in attacking reinforcements to the club.

The signing of Feyenoord and Colombia forward Luis Sinisterra has now been confirmed, with the Whites spending £21.4m plus add-ons to bring the Eredivisie star to Elland Road.

However, the club still lacks a regular starting centre-forward, with first-choice Patrick Bamford struggling for fitness last season.

And Jones believes that the club will bring in another starter down the middle during the summer transfer window.

What has Jones said about Leeds?

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Leeds are still going to bring in a centre-forward, they will still sign another goal-getter if you like.

“They just need another figure but they need to be more exciting than they have been.”

What next for Leeds?

In terms of alternative forward options, Jesse Marsch’s side are believed to be offering over £25m for Club Brugge attacker Charles De Ketelaere this summer, but he would unlikely play in that centre-forward spot for the club, with his preferred position being in the number ten spot.

Chelsea’s Armando Broja has been linked with a move to Elland Road during the summer, but nothing has developed of that situation, so an imminent move for the Albanian seems to be an unlikely proposition as it stands.

Jones previously told GIVEMESPORT that Marsch’s side could ‘sound out’ the possibility of signing Watford’s Emmanuel Dennis this summer, but much like Broja, any emerging news of this transfer has gone quiet and again is unlikely to happen during the current window.

In terms of midfielders, Kalvin Phillips’ departure to Manchester City has left a big gap in the Premier League side’s midfield this summer, but the club seem to have replaced the England international with the signing of RB Leipzig and United States international Tyler Adams for a fee of £20m plus add-ons.

Whilst Leeds are making moves in the market following the sale of Phillips and the seemingly inevitable departure of Raphinha, the club’s fans will be desperate to see a proven centre-forward walking through the gates of Elland Road soon.
