Roman Reigns has essentially become a part-timer since WWE WrestleMania 38, and that's set to continue.

Following in the footsteps of the likes of Goldberg and Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns has been working on a part-time schedule since April.

Many had grown used to seeing Roman on TV every single week, but the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion now only appears periodically on Raw and SmackDown.

And in an unfortunate update, it seems like Roman's part-time schedule isn't going to be ending anytime soon.

WWE has released the poster for Extreme Rules, which is set to take place on October 8, just over a month after Clash at the Castle.

The poster, which you can see above, features the likes of Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, Riddle and Drew McIntyre, but Roman Reigns is nowhere to be seen.

Reigns is WWE's top star, so if he was going to appear on the show, there's no doubt that he'd be featured on the post.

Unfortunately, this seems to suggest that Reigns will not be at Extreme Rules in October, an undeniable blow for WWE and its plans.

Reigns missed Hell in a Cell and Money in the Bank in June and July respectively but will be back for SummerSlam on July 30.

At the show, Roman is slated to defend her Undisputed title against long-time rival Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing match that will almost certainly main event the pay-per-view.

After that, while unconfirmed, Reigns is also likely to be at Clash at the Castle in September, WWE's first major pay-per-view in the UK since 1992.

The rumour is that Roman will be defending his title against Drew McIntyre at the show, but that is far from confirmed at this stage and is nothing more than fan speculation.

There's always a chance this changes, and Roman ends up appearing at Extreme Rules, but it certainly seems like he won't be factored into the plans WWE has for the show.

There's also a chance that Reigns might not even be champion by then, with Drew McIntyre one of the favourites to take the belts off him.

However, some are certain that he'll be champion heading into WrestleMania 39, when he's rumoured to face The Rock, so we could be set for another WWE pay-per-view without a world title match.
