Fair play to Vinicius. That’s dedication right there.

The 21-year-old has just enjoyed the best season of his career, scoring 22 goals in 52 games, but he’s clearly not resting on his laurels. His manager, Carlo Ancelotti, will no doubt be delighted.

Vinicius Jr has followed the Cristiano Ronaldo method

After seeing these photos, it won’t come as a huge surprise to learn that Vinicius’ footballing hero is Cristiano Ronaldo.

Spanish newspaper Marca reported in May 2020 that Vinicius was following the ‘so-called Cristiano method’ to become a world-class footballer, constantly working on improving his fitness as well as his physical and mental attributes.

The South American, who had more than his fair share of critics and doubters during his first few seasons at the Bernabeu, hired a chef and personal trainer to accompany him at his Madrid home.

The chef monitored Vinicius’s diet closely and worked on a new nutritional plan to ensure that he eats well at all times.

It wasn’t long before the skilful winger became both stronger and quicker after reducing his body fat percentage.

Per Step to Health, some of the foods that are never missing in Vinicius’s diet include ham, cheese, eggs, low-calorie yoghurts, chicken, fish, vegetables and fruit.

Will Vinicius Jr become the world's best player?

Following the example set by his idol, Cristiano, has clearly worked to perfection for the young Brazil international.

Ronaldo had set himself the target of becoming the world’s best player long before the age of 21 and there’s no reason why Vinicius shouldn’t have the same objective heading into the new season.

Unquestionably one of the best attacking players in world football right now, Vinicius has all the tools required to become one of the greatest players of his generation.

And he surely won’t go far wrong if he continues to follow in Ronaldo’s footsteps with his work on and off the pitch.
