Borussia Dortmund have officially completed the signing of Sebastien Haller. On Wednesday, the Bundesliga outfit announced the arrival of the Ivorian striker from Ajax in a deal worth around €31 million.Haller scored goals for fun in Amsterdam last season following an ill-fated spell at West Ham United and has previously smashed it in the German top-flight too.The 28-year-old spent two years at Eintracht Frankfurt before jetting off to England in 2019 and in that time, he scored 33 goals and assisted a further 19 in 77 appearances.Haller and Dortmund look like a match made in heaven, particularly after Erling Haaland's move to Manchester City.Edin Terzic's side were in desperate need of a new striker and in Haller, they've got one who certainly knows where the back of the net is.In 65 games for Ajax, he bagged 45 goals, including 11 in just eight Champions League outings.

Dortmund's Haller announcement

Signing Haller for just €31 million will likely prove to be a masterstroke by Dortmund and the deal for the striker is certainly not the only shrewd-looking piece of business completed by the club so far this summer.

Niklas Sule, who is still just 26, has joined from Bayern Munich on a free transfer, while fellow highly-rated centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck has been snapped up for around €25 million.

Two of Germany's best defenders for a combined fee of €25 million? Yeah, not bad.

On top of that, Dortmund have acquired the services of 20-year-old sensation Karim Adeyemi from Red Bull Salzburg, where the versatile forward netted 33 goals in 91 games.

Oh and Salih Ozcan has also been signed from FC Koln to bolster a midfield that contains Jude Bellingham, Emre Can and Mahmoud Dahoud.

To say Dortmund are in a healthy position going into 2022/23 would be something of an understatement and if you don't believe that, check out our graphic highlighting their current squad depth.

Impressive stuff, right?

There's quality available in every single position, particularly in midfield and the forward areas.

Donyell Malen, Youssoufa Moukoko, Julian Brandt, Gio Reyna, Marius Wolf and England youth star Jamie Bynoe-Gittens as back-up options in attack? That's when you know your club is in a very good place.

Dortmund have all the weapons necessary at their disposal to bring an end to Bayern's Bundesliga monopoly in 2022/23 and for the sake of the division, we hope they do it.
