Boxing legend Mike Tyson might be known as one of the scariest men on the planet, but it seems he's just a big old softie really.

'Iron Mike' can be seen training with Arturo Gatti's son, who coincidentally also shares the same name, in a resurfaced clip.

The old footage shows Tyson holding a heavy bag for Gatti Jr, after inviting him to train with him last year, and the youngster can be seen giving it a fair old whack.

Twitter user 'Boxing World UK' reshared the original footage accompanied by the following caption: "Arturo Gatti’s son in the gym with Mike Tyson. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree."

It has currently been viewed more than 200,000 times at the time of writing.

Gatti may have died over almost 13 years ago, but his legacy will live on forever.

The Italian was IBF super-featherweight world champion in 1995 and had a legendary trilogy of fights against Micky Ward before ending his career in 2007 with a record of 40 wins and 9 losses.

Gatti's most notable wins came against Joey Gamache, Calvin Grove and Tracy Harris Patterson.

He tragically passed away in 2009 under suspicious circumstances.

Following his death in 2009, Gatti was posthumously inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in December 2012.

Tyson was a big fan of Gatti, having first met him as a teenager in the Catskills Mountain in New York, and paid tribute to him with a moving piece at his funeral.

The statement read: “I met Arturo when he was nine years old.

"He was in the Catskills with the Hilton brothers.

“Matthew Hilton became junior middleweight champion of the world.

“We never saw Arturo coming, we were always going to his brother’s (Joe) fights in New Jersey.

“We never knew Arturo would become such a great fighter. I was always happy to see his success, to see him walk in the gym as a boy and become a great champion.

“I am happy to be a part of his short, exciting life. May God be with you my young friend.”
