People have been left rather unimpressed with Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs and his workout regiment ahead of the upcoming season.

Stefon Diggs has quietly become one of the best wide receivers in the league over the past few years, with four straight seasons of 1,000 receiving yards or more, with the last three seasons seeing his touchdown totals move from 6, to 8 to 10.

It’s no wonder then that the Buffalo Bills decided to give him a new 4-year, $96m contract extension this past offseason, making him one of the highest-paid receivers in the National Football League. The 28-year-old might be more famously known for the ‘Minneapolis Miracle’ back during the 2018 playoffs, but with the Bills he could become part of something much bigger as they enter the 2022 season as one of the favourites to win the Super Bowl.

And after suffering such a tragic loss in the playoffs last year, Diggs is putting in the work to make sure that they can go a little bit further in the playoffs this year than they did during the last season.

Working hard on his hands

As is probably incredibly obvious, but the most important part of any receiver is your hands, afterall, how else are you meant to catch the ball? One other important part is your vision, especially if you have to deal with watching a ball into your hands through a sea of bodies or coming over your shoulder.

Diggs has been working on the latter, and posted a video on his social media (via @NFL) of him watching the ball into his hands as it comes over his shoulder. What is perhaps even more impressive is that he included the whole video rather than just the catches, showing that he is far from perfect:

And whilst his reflexes and hand-eye coordination were pretty neat, there were some who weren’t too impressed with what they saw from him.

What have they been saying?

Whether it be the fact that he wasn’t wearing a helmet, which would be a much better test for his peripheral vision and getting used to getting ready that way, or they just didn’t think what he was doing was all that special, there were a number who ripped into him in the comments on social media:

Which might not be the best way to go about it, because now they might have just given him a chip on his shoulder to use this upcoming season, which might come back to haunt fans of teams he has to play against.
