Celtic have looked at their best with Daizen Maeda, Jota and Kyogo Furuhashi in the team, according to Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph.

Ange Postecoglou's side were crowned Scottish champions in the Australian's first season in Glasgow, with the trio, who cost a combined total of £12.6m, playing a huge part in Celtic's success.

What's the latest news involving Celtic?

When Postecoglou arrived in Scotland, the names of Maeda and Furuhashi were relatively unknown, although their form last season meant that wasn't the case for long.

Maeda scored seven goals and laid on eight assists following his January arrival, with Celtic unbeaten in the 16 top-flight games he featured in.

Meanwhile, Furuhashi led the way in terms of goals during the first half of the campaign, netting 20 times in 33 outings despite a hamstring problem keeping him on the sidelines for several months.

Jota also enjoyed an impressive season at Parkhead, directly contributing to 27 goals, which convinced Celtic to sign him permanently from Benfica earlier this summer.

Jota and Furuhashi were the club's top two goalscorers, while only three others found the net more than Maeda, highlighting the trio's importance heading into next season.

What did Joseph say about Celtic?

Despite their respective impacts, Furuhashi's injury and Maeda's winter arrival meant they hardly played together, but when asked how exciting of a prospect that is ahead of next season, he told GIVEMESPORT: "Definitely, and to have those three fit, Celtic have looked at their best when they've had those three fit, and I would even include [Liel] Abada in that."

Are Celtic favourites to retain the title?

Naturally, the champions are normally expected to defend their crown, but it's shaping up to be another thrilling title race.

Both sides have made some shrewd signings, with Celtic bringing in Cameron Carter-Vickers, Maeda, and Jota permanently, while also adding goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist and Alexandro Bernabei to their squad.

Meanwhile, after fluffing their lines from January onwards, Rangers will be looking to bounce back with a bang, with the Ibrox club bringing in John Souttar and Greek striker Antonio Colak.

But Giovanni van Bronckhorst is going to have to find a solution for the departure of Joe Aribo, who's on the verge of returning to England with Southampton, which could swing the pendulum Celtic's way following his huge contribution of 26 goals and 25 assists over the last three years.
