Gabriel Jesus could not have asked for a better start to his Arsenal career.The striker recently joined the club from Manchester City in a £45 million deal and was handed his first minutes in a pre-season friendly against FC Nuremberg on Friday afternoon.Jesus entered the fray after the half-time interval with Arsenal trailing 2-0 thanks to goals from Johannes Geis and Kwadwo Duah.And it took Jesus just 84 seconds to halve the Gunners' deficit, the Brazil international finishing emphatically at the near post after a slick one-two with fellow striker Eddie Nketiah.Not a bad entrance, eh?Jesus certainly didn't stop there either. He was heavily involved in Nuremberg's two unfortunate own goals, which were scored by Christopher Schindler and Tim Handwerker.That put Arsenal 4-2 ahead after Mohamed Elneny's rocket had levelled the scores at 2-2, but the hosts pulled one back in the 73rd minute through Lukas Schleimer.Jesus wasn't done, though. Two minutes after Schleimer's strike, the 25-year-old grabbed his second of the game to secure a 5-3 victory for Mikel Arteta's side, countryman Gabriel Martinelli contributing the assist.

As pre-season debuts go, Jesus' for Arsenal is right up there with the very best of them.
The north London outfit really struggled in the striker department throughout 2021/22, with Alexandre Lacazette's woeful form really hindering the team's attack.
But in Jesus, they've got a world-class operator who can take them to the next level, one who's feet are also firmly on the ground.
Why did we add that last part? Well, after his dream debut, the former City man was told by a reporter than he was now Arsenal's "main man" and he responded to that label in an incredibly humble manner.

Jesus doesn't want to be the man in the spotlight or the glamorous superstar, he simply wants to do his job to the best of his ability and help the team progress in 2022/23.
