Gareth Bale was officially unveiled to the Los Angles Football Club fans last night and the Welshman looked overjoyed as he led a chant over a megaphone and was drenched in water by his new teammates.

LAFC took on city rivals LA Galaxy in the so-called 'El-Trafico' at a sold out Banc of California Stadium on Friday evening.

The club's new signing Bale touched down in Los Angeles earlier that day but despite being eligible to play in the clash, the decision was made not to rush him straight into action before he'd even had so much as a training session.

A wise choice given his extensive injury history...

Instead, MLS's latest European star was presented to his new adoring fans ahead of kick-off and then watched his team run out 3-2 winners on the night from a VIP box within the arena.

After the game, Bale could be seen joining in with the on-pitch celebrations, dancing around with his teammates and leading the crowd in LAFC focussed chants - it seems he's been made to feel welcome almost instantaneously.

Video: Fun loving Gareth returns

In the video which LAFC shared to their official Twitter account, Bale stands in front of the main stand with his arm around his new teammates and gently begins to lead a rendition of one of the club's most popular chants.

We say 'gently', because it starts off pretty slow. But after 45 seconds or so, the atmosphere really picks up and the celebrations seem wild with players and fans bouncing around all over the shot.

Not to mention the fact that Bale gets absolutely soaked as his teammates douse him continuously with water.

It's nice to see Bale enjoying life on a football field again after a tough couple of years in Madrid.

If LAFC can make him feel part of the group - and based on this that's exactly what they're going to do - you can expect to be a force to be reckoned with in the MLS and at the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

Head coach Steve Cherundolo said on the matter, per the Daily Mail: "You saw how quickly a player gets integrated into our circle.

"We will get Gareth in [kit] ASAP. He was ready tonight, but I think it would have been asking a little much to have him come off the plane and right into the game."

Well, Mr. Cherundolo, we hope you're true to your word, because the eyes of the world are eagerly awaiting the first time Bale turns out in the LA black and gold.
