West Ham are "reasonably likely" to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

David Moyes has made two summer signings, but the Scot is still waiting to bring in someone to provide competition up front for Michail Antonio.

What's the latest news involving Broja?

According to the Daily Mail, West Ham are on a three-man shortlist to sign the Albania international, who's future at Stamford Bridge is in doubt.

This comes after Sky Sports claimed last month that the capital club were set to launch a £30m bid for Broja, who scored nine goals during his first proper spell in English football at Southampton last season.

Broja isn't expected to link up with Chelsea's squad in America until his future has been decided, with the report from the Daily Mail stating that he's set for further talks in the weeks ahead.

Todd Boehly recently met with the striker's representatives, although Thomas Tuchel and co. have still not decided on his next move.

Newcastle and Everton are also in the running for his signature, but Jones reckons that West Ham are favourites at this current moment.

What did Jones say about Broja?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "We know there have been plenty of other clubs looking at his situation, but he's excited by what West Ham did last season and how he might fit into that.

"So, I would say Broja to West Ham is looking reasonably likely at this point."

Would Broja start for West Ham?

Even if West Ham do end up paying around £30m, there's no guarantee that he'll walk straight into the side.

We've seen previously with Said Benrahma, who cost the Hammers more than £20m, that transfer fees don't earn you a place in the side..

The Algerian made only two starts in his opening 10 games as a West Ham player, while he was only picked from the off 14 times in the Premier League in his debut season at the London Stadium.

Those numbers would suggest that Broja will have to earn his place in the team, especially being against someone in Antonio who's been the club's top goalscorer in two of the last three seasons.

But with the Hammers back in European competition once again, they'll be playing twice a week for much of the first half of the season, so Broja would still get chances to impress.
