Jake Paul has been having difficulty getting an opponent confirmed for his upcoming bout in Madison Square Garden, and now the ‘Notorious’ Conor McGregor has laughed off any speculation that he would ever get in the boxing ring with the social media sensation.

The UFC legend has an 0-1 record in the sweet science himself, but a loss against arguably the GOAT of the sport Floyd Mayweather is not exactly something to be ashamed of.

A fight between Paul and McGregor would certainly be a massive mainstream spectacle, but McGregor seems to be under the impression that he would be bringing most of the potential buyrate to the table.

Here is what Conor McGregor had to say in reply to Jake Paul at the idea of the two men getting into the boxing ring for a massive pugilist bout.

Jake Paul has verbally agreed to fight Mike Tyson

During a recent appearance on The MMA Hour, Paul revealed why he feels he can face McGregor at some point down the line.

He said: “Yeah for sure, I think for me fighting a couple more times, continuing to knock some people out and he has to get active again, who knows when that’s gonna happen?

“I think those two things need to happen and then at some point it’s gotta happen. Why not? He’s a businessman, I’m a businessman. That’s $75 to $100 million for both of us.”

After hearing the comments from the YouTuber turned boxer, McGregor would lambast him on Twitter at the mere thought he would even entertain such a contest.

He wrote: “😂 you’ve 2 fights and done 70k buys. You are a flop, kid. A nobody.”

Whilst there is a chance that this could change at some point in the future, it appears as though McGregor is not in the least bit interested in getting in the ring with Paul.

McGregor of course is one of the highest-drawing fighters in the history of MMA, if not the king of PPV inside the octagon.

Paul is still expected to be facing Hasim Rahman Jr. in an August 6th headliner, but there are also question marks regarding that contest as Rahman Jr is reportedly trying to “renegotiate.”
