UFC Fight Night returns this weekend with a huge main event in the Featherweight division between Brian Ortega and Yair Rodriguez, with the winner likely going on to face Alexander Volkanovski for the 145-pound title.

Ortega and Rodriguez are the #2 and #3 ranked fighters in the division respectively, so there is a huge motivation for both fighters in this contest.

With a big potential PPV main event and payday on the line, many have been giving their predictions for the Fight Night main event this weekend, including fellow UFC Featherweight fighter Josh Emmett.

Here is what Josh Emmett predicted would happen during the UFC Fight Night main event on Saturday 16th July 2022 from the UBS Arena in Elmont, United States.

UFC 269: Josh Emmett v Dan Ige

Speaking to James Lynch on his YouTube channel, Emmett would analyse the fight between two men who sit very close to him in the 145-pound rankings. In fact, as of writing, Emmett is joint third in the Featherweight rankings alongside Rodriguez.

He said: “Yair is a fast explosive fighter, great stand-up. Obviously, Brian Ortega is one of the best Jiu-Jitsu guys in the division, maybe even in the UFC.

“But his (Ortega’s) striking and his wrestling has come a long way as well. He's just good everywhere, so it's like…I can play out how this goes, either Yair or Ortega…but man I don't know!?

“I'll go maybe with Ortega then. That’s going to be a great fight you know? They’re tough, both of them.”
