UFC Fight Night Predictions (16/07/22): British standout gives main event prediction

Here is what Jack Shore predicted would happen during the UFC Fight Night main event on Saturday 16th July 2022 from the UBS Arena in Elmont.

UFC Fight Night returns this weekend with a huge main event in the 145-pound division between Brian Ortega and Yair Rodriguez.

The winner of the bout will likely go on to face UFC Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski, as Ortega and Rodriguez are currently the #2 and #3 ranked fighters in the division respectively.

With a big potential PPV main event and payday on the line, many have been giving their predictions for the Fight Night main event this weekend, including UFC fighter and British standout Jack Shore.

Here is what Jack Shore predicted would happen during the UFC Fight Night main event on Saturday 16th July 2022 from the UBS Arena in Elmont, United States.

Josh Emmett on Ortega vs Rodriguez

Speaking to James Lynch on his YouTube channel, Shore would analyse the fight between two men who sit very close to the top of the 145-pound rankings.

He said: “Rodriguez…he had that long layoff didn't he and then for them to chuck him straight away with Holloway was a tough fight, tough fight to come back to after such a long layoff.

“But even against the guy of Holloway’s calibre he looked so good, he had a lot of success. He had moments where he hurt Holloway but he did look like he was a step behind as a guy who hadn’t fought for a long time.

“I think he's [Rodriguez] gonna take it if I'm honest. I think he's a five-rounder and I think based on that last fight he’s gonna take it.

“Although Rodriguez had a tough last fight with Holloway you know he hasn't taken the damage I don't think that Ortega has taken, so I'm going Yair [to win]."
