Manchester United ran riot in their pre-season opener against Liverpool on Tuesday afternoon.

Erik ten Hag was in United's dugout for the first time as they faced off against their fierce rivals at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Thailand.

United came flying out of the traps and took the lead after 13 minutes.

The ball fell invitingly to Jadon Sancho in the box and he fired his effort into the bottom corner.

United then scored twice in three minutes to take a three-goal lead into half-time.

Fred doubled United's lead with an outrageous lob on the half-hour mark, with Anthony Martial bagging his side's third a few minutes later.

There were changed aplenty for both sides at half-time. Tyrrell Malacia was among those who entered the fray as he came on for his debut.

Jurgen Klopp sent on the big guns with 30 minutes remaining, with the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold all coming on.

But it was actually United who scored the next goal.

The Red Devils made it 4-0 with a brilliant counter-attack in the 76th minute.

Eric Bailly started the move as he won back possession just outside his own box.

He charged forward, produced a stepover to ghost past Thiago, and then found Facundo Pellistri.

Pellistri moved the ball on to Amad, who squared the ball back for the Uruguayan winger find the net. Watch the moment below...

What a move that is. There were no further goals as United held on to a four-goal victory.

Erik ten Hag couldn't have dreamed of a better first game in his United tenure.

Of course, it's still very early on in pre-season and it's only a friendly, but it's a very encouraging start.
