Monday Night Raw saw a surprising return in the main event of the show, as Dolph Ziggler interrupted proceedings to make his presence known.

Raw was headlined by the tag team bout that saw Riddle and Bobby Lashley teaming up to face Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins and Theory. With Riddle getting the pinfall to score a victory for his team.

During the match a somewhat suited Dolph Ziggler made a surprising return to TV and sat at ringside during the bout, and at one point halted Theory from cheating to gain the win.

At the culmination of the main event, Ziggler then stepped into the ring and delivered a superkick to Theory and the show ended with Dolph standing tall over Mr. Money in the Bank.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Theory and Ziggler will be feuding going forward, with Dolph seen as the perfect foil for Theory to learn from.

Ziggler and Theory are gonna feud, with the idea that Theory can benefit from a 20-year veteran type of guy, a very good worker. So Ziggler’s a babyface, they just did it at the house shows. They just want him running around with Theory at shows every night for a couple of nights a week every week for a while because they’re bound and determined to make Theory into something, and (Ziggler) is a good guy to bring back for that. I think they have the mentality that whatever they’re gonna do with Theory down the line allows them to beat him all the time right now.

Ziggler had been absent from WWE TV since his programme with Bron Breakker over WrestleMania weekend come to a close, bar a brief appearance alongside Bobby Roode in a one-off angle with Omos.

It now seems the 41-year-old will be positioned as a babyface against Theory in a programme that’s set to kick-off once the Upstart has finished his SummerSlam feud with Lashley.
