Scotland's St. Andrews is hosting the 2022 Open Championship this week. On Tuesday, the threesome pairings for the first and second rounds were made public.
With some of the biggest names in the game paired together the first few days at St. Andrews, players will start their pursuit of glory and a Claret Jug as early as 1:35 a.m. ET.
Two of the top golfers in recent months, Xander Schauffele and Rory McIlroy, will participate with reigning Champion Golfer of the Year Collin Morikawa.
The 2019 Open champion Shane Lowry and the current PGA Championship victor Justin Thomas will follow these three closely behind as they start their quest for the Claret Jug soon before 5 a.m.

Not all the big-name golfers are off in the early morning hours; around 10 a.m., spectators may see players like Tiger Woods, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Max Homa. They come before another well-liked trio of Jordan Spieth, Jon Rahm, and Harold Varner III.

The wind seems to be rather consistent throughout the day, unlike other championships this year, and neither the early nor the afternoon tee times will provide a significant advantage. The weather in Scotland is unpredictable, but if the prediction holds, the Old Course's first round will provide players with excellent scoring conditions.
