Darwin Nunez has been mocked for his performance on his Liverpool debut vs Manchester United.

The £85 million signing from Benfica played the final half an hour during the 4-0 defeat to Erik ten Hag's side.

The Red were already 3-0 down by the time the striker took to the pitch, with Facundo Pellistri adding a fourth with 15 minutes remaining.

While Nunez can't be blamed for the result, he did miss a golden opportunity to score his first goal in a Liverpool shirt when he blazed over from a rebound.

As you'd expect, rival fans jumped on the chance to mock the new club-record signing.

It was something we saw even before kick-off as fans took to social media to share a compilation of a few of his misses in training.

Football fans really are brutal.

And another example of that has emerged following Liverpool's loss.

That's because a Man Utd fan has created a compilation video of Nunez's performance - and it's going viral.

With a mocking soundtrack, it shows the 23-year-old struggling during his 30 minutes including his disappointing miss.

Absolutely savage.

We're sure it won't be long until Nunez silences his haters with a few goals but, until then, rival fans will do their best to claim Liverpool have signed a flop for a club-record fee.

While rival supporters can have their say, the opinion that only matters is that of Jurgen Klopp.

The German boss insisted that Nunez was 'dangerous' on his debut but revealed that he was suffering from blisters.

“He is a number nine who can play on the wing as well,” said the Reds boss. “We will see where he plays.

“But what you could see is the boys were already searching for him. It was his third session (since arriving for pre-season training) and I think after the third sprint his lungs were ready to explode. We nearly killed him these balls but he offered the runs and the boys wanted to pass the ball, that is for sure one of his strengths. He was dangerous.

“His profile is a proper number nine so that’s helpful with speed and aggression and using his body.

“I understand we have to talk about it that early, but for us it makes absolutely no sense. Fabio is here for eight days and Darwin for three days and has massive blisters on his feet, and we’ve all experienced that in our life and it doesn’t feel any different for a professional football player, it is really painful.”
